dc.description.abstract | The hydro-physical and chemical parameters of the water of Bhara Kahu in the samples obtained are determined during the present study including ph, electrical conductivity, major constituents, iron (Fe), chloride (Cl), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), nitrates (NO3) with traces of nitrite (NO2), silver (Ag) and lead (Pb). The groundwater of Bhara Kahu is within the permissible limits for drinking purposes as compared with the World Health Organization (WHO) standards. The surrounding geology and soil have influenced the groundwater quality of the studied area. At some places there seemed to be a change in the chemistry of the groundwater that may be a threat for the contamination of the subsurface aquifers. Major factors which have caused groundwater contamination in this region are man-made, which include agricultural practices and domestic waste products. | en_US |
