dc.description.abstract In the last two decades, there has been a tremendous increase in the complexity. diversity, and volume of exploration and production (E&P) data, with the advent of new methods, the procedures involved in processing these data sets to get the required results have become so complex that a single application software package cannot perform all the tasks that are necessary, consequently, specialized software applications have emerged for specific tasks, all commercial geological and geophysical application software have their own unique databases and/or data file format. The E&P functions require all application software involved in data acquisition, analysis, storage, visualization, and report generation to effectively communicate with other industries or research settings in which large volumes of geo-scientific information have needed to be managed and integrated with various application software packages using file conversion formats. Under these circumstances, a major concern within the petroleum industry is the development of standard protocols and formats for database sharing and data transfer among various applications. To overcome this problem is the main aim of the project by working with Input Output Language (OIL), Integrated Geo System (IGS) and Galaxy by Oil and Gas development Company Limited (OGDCL). By working with OIL we came to know how two different software packages can be linked format wise. IGS is used to integrate data at graphical levels because most geo-scientific data are space variant with respect to the earth's geographic coordinates, and they are usually plotted in some graphical form. Galaxy which is OGDCL relational data base management system (RDBMS) is used to link between OIL and IGS for the purpose of managing the geophysical data. en_US
