Abstract:
Seven seismic lines SK-30, SK-28, SK-27, SK-29, SK-31, SK-33, SK-04, and data of three wells (Dewan 1, 2 and 5A) were obtained from Directorate General of Petroleum Concession (DGPC) acquired in the area of Safed Koh which lies in the lower Indus basin. There are five dip and two strike lines Two prominent reflector Dungan (Cretaceous) and Chiltan (Jurassic) was marked using well data of (Dewan 1, 2 and 5A). Normal faulting and roll over structures are observed. Two way travel times of (TWT) of both reflectors (Dungan and Chiltan) were noted along with faults and posted on base map to make time contour map of Cretaceous Dungan and Jurassic Chiltan formations which were continued through out the area. The seismic velocity is used to covert TWT to depths and later these depths are used to make depth contour map. Well to seismic tie gives the confirmed depths. On depth contour map a well location was proposed at structurally high position. The primary target of the well is Dungan Limestone and the secondary target is Chiltan Limestone.
