dc.description.abstract Miano is one of the commercial field of Central Indus Basin. This study is aimed at exploiting the reservoir potential sands of Lower Goru Formation. These channel sands are very important for the assessment of hydrocarbon potential. For the assessment of hydrocarbon potential of sands of Lower Goru Formation, advanced seismic techniques are used to fulfil the purpose. Seismic data interpretation and mapping defines the subsurface structure which is negative flower structure. The strike-slip component is responsible for the formation of these negative flower structures at Lower Goru sands level. At Lower Goru sands level, fault blocks tilted in NE-SW orientation with a two-way dip closure are interpreted and mapped. These tilted fault blocks form horsts and graben structures and compartmentalization at Lower Goru Formation level. Petrophysical analysis showed a reservoir zone in B sands in both wells, which can produce hydrocarbons commercially. With the help of attribute analysis the sands of Lower Goru Formation are studied in term of faulting, lithological changes, presence of bright spots etc. Model-based inversion was run for the porosity estimation of sands of Lower Goru Formation, which showed significant match between the porosity calculated from petrophysical analysis and the porosity calculated from model based inversion. en_US
