Abstract:
Pesticides are generally anticipated to have no negative influence on the environment if used as directed. It is clear, however, that trace quantities of pesticide residues found in soil, water, air, and occasionally food can have negative consequences on human and environment. Pesticides can cause health problems through a variety of pathways, including direct occupational exposure, food contamination, and residues in the environment. Extensive research and literature are also conducted on agrochemicals, their fate in environment, human health, innovations in agricultural techniques. This research examines the nature and degree of pesticide contamination in Pakistan's rice cultivated region of Sialkot's soils and groundwater. GCMS gas chromatography technology is adopted for observation and monitoring of pesticide contamination in soil and off-site transfer into surface and groundwaters is also being used to examine the fate and behavior of pesticides in Pakistani soils. Some management methods for reducing pesticide pollution in soils and waters from diffusing sources, as well as remediation of damaged soils and water, have been considered. The review indicates that pesticide contamination of soils and water has happened in Pakistan, and that there is a need to better understand pesticide behavior in the soil environment to establish management strategies that would minimize any future negative influence on our environment.
