dc.description.abstract The research explores the influence of social networking sites on body image perception among young women (from age 18 to 25 years). This research has three main objectives: 1. to explore young adults' perceptions regarding how they are being influenced by social media imagery on their body image; 2. understand the role of Social Networking Sites in constructing young adults' concepts about self-identity and body-image, as well as socio-demographic characteristics including age, gender education income ethnicity location marital status employment parental religious beliefs influencing youth's adoption of a lifestyle guided by images from social network sites. The qualitative research methodology was the semi-structured interviews where female participants were interviewed Those who have been customer of SNS for a reasonable amount of time, (who used SNS every day) They emphasize the nuanced ways social media impacts body image and self-identity, as well as its good aspects like building community support and bad ones such as perpetuating unrealistic beauty standards or fostering a culture of comparison. The research aids insights into the unexamined relationships between social media and perceptions of young women, leading to discussions on ways in which healthier engagements with such platforms can be fostered. en_US
