Abstract:
This study investigates the Biden administration's foreign policy toward China, focusing on hedging concept. The primary research objective examines how the US can balance cooperation and competition with China in a complex geopolitical landscape. Employing a qualitative research methodology, the study analyzes data from research institutes, government statements, interviews, research papers, journals, reports, and books. The findings reveal that Biden's foreign policy emphasizes on the coexistence policy. Key strategies include managing the Taiwan issue, supporting Indo-Pacific allies and addressing economic challenges posed by China's Belt and Road Initiative. Hedging and Neoclassical realism are applied to analyze Biden's foreign policy towards China. The study underscores a systematic and coordinated approach to maintain a favorable power balance and highlights the role of multilateral efforts in promoting a rules-based international order. Overall, the research emphasizes the necessity of an integrated and multifaceted approach to foreign policy.
