dc.description.abstract The purpose of this research was to investigate the impact of corporal punishment faced at school level and long-term Academic Performance among university students. It was hypothesized that there would be a relationship between school corporal punishment and academic performance among university students. Secondly, school corporal punishment would predict academic performance among university students. Thirdly, demographic variables are likely to have an impact on academic performance among university students. A Correlational (cross sectional) research design was utilized with a sample of 250 University with 73.2 % males and 26.8 % females (Age mean 20.72 and SD 1.52). School Corporal Punishment scale by Gershoff et al. (2019) was used in the research along with self-reported Academic Performance (marks obtained in Secondary school, Higher Secondary school and University GPA). The results were analyzed through SPSS ver. 25. The relationship between School Corporal Punishment and Academic Performance was found to be significant. Furthermore, the findings also determined that School Corporal Punishment significantly predicted Academic Performance. Independent sample t-Test revealed significant/ non- significant gender differences among study variables. This study highlighted the importance of addressing Corporal Punishment in Schools, emphasizing awareness, interventions, and community support. This can include community organizations, counseling services, peer support groups and educational campaigns that aim to raise awareness, offer guidance, and create a safe and inclusive environment for adolescents. en_US
