Abstract:
Scan Shot is a project aimed at developing a mobile scanner solution that empowers
individuals to easily scan their official documents and images using their
smartphones, eliminating the need for an immediate access to a physical scanner. In
the post-COVID era, where physical document submission and data transfer can be
cumbersome, this scanner provides a convenient alternative. While a basic camera
can capture images, there are inherent challenges in ensuring the readability of the
captured text. Human errors and difficulties in capturing thin or delicate text can
result in noise or unreadable characters. Scan Shot addresses these issues by offering
character recognition capabilities and a variety of filters to enhance text visibility.
Furthermore, it facilitates the scanning of ID cards, postcards, and other similar
documents.
The core solution lies in the development of a portable scanner equipped with
character recognition technology and a range of filters to improve text legibility.
These filters enable users to make text more prominent, bold, or enhance text edges.
To aid comprehension of documents in different languages, a translation feature is
also included. The translator enables the conversion of text from one language to
another, facilitating understanding across language barriers.
