Abstract:
The core idea of RCAS is to avoid train collisions, de railing and rail road accidents
so that human life is saved. In this project anti-collision system for the train is
designed, simulated and then tested. The locomotives are driven wirelessly and
controlling of the trains is made possible through an android application development.
The efficiency of train-to-train communications is enhanced by implementing
zigbeeS2 on the proposed system. This enables train drivers to have an up-to-date
accurate knowledge if there is any chance of collision between the two locomotives
on the same track, and act in consequence. In addition to that, GPS/GSM/GPRS
shields are used for identifying the location as well as sending the error signal to the
control room. Computer analysis of the received information, detect possible
collision, displaying alert signal through GPRSshield, and advising the most
convenient strategy to follow in order to avoid danger. Moreover, for enhancing its
effectiveness and robust communication features a RF module is also proposed to
implement in this anti collision system for the communication between the guard and
the driver. The up-gradation is also done by introducing Raspberry-pi for image
processing to detect obstacles. The system is adaptive to a variety of situations like
advancing trains or road and air vehicles.
We expect that we can get rid of train collisions and accidents if this system is
implemented on large scale.
