Abstract:
An election is a proper group decision method by which people select a specific person
to hold any position [1]. The core purpose of elections is to come up with leaders of the
people’s choice. A fair and transparent election indicates the choice of the people.
People get to express their opinion as to how things must be. Elections should be fair
enough that the votes are counted and results are declared without manipulation. When
the election is unfair and difficult, their opinion certainly no more matters. Some of
the problems involved include vote-rigging, insecure polling stations, and insufficient
polling materials. It was necessary to go to the voting booth in the traditional system.
People from various locations who do not have their voting cards are unable to vote.
Also, the user authentication was not good or appropriate. There was a lot of paper
work that took a long time to complete. The results needed to be calculated manually
which was very time consuming process.
This online election system seeks to address the above issues. The proposed
system is designed to eliminate the time and effort required in traditional voting. It is
more comfortable to freely modify the elections and strengthen its integrity and
transparency. There must be less effort, less stress, and fewer labour involved, as the
main expense will focus on building, maintaining, and operating a safe online system.
It should be noted that with this system in place, the users, shall be given ample time
during the voting period. Before the election time they will also receive training on
how to vote online
