dc.description.abstract | This study attempts to investigate the finest maritime policies and legislation around the world from the perspective of International Maritime Governance by questioning the role of legal instruments, the process of implementation with practical examples through the advent of procedural simplification, de-regulation and the actual reason behind over-regulation without its application and due implementation. The maritime governance in the future is anticipated to dug out several functions for alternative institutions and keep the governance as simple as possible. Hence, the notion of maritime governance in the absence of a government can be supposed as driving force for the foreseeable future. With the prospect of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), it becomes imperative for Pakistan to identify the components of maritime governance & development of the concept of maritime governance in contemporaneous International Relations. The maritime governance is a vigorous process entailing inter-reliant areas of legal protocols, water-based economy, security and environmental elements thereof. Their all-round mutuality & interrelatedness while dealing with oceans make maritime governance essential instrument for regional powers to gain their attention. Deep study and analysis of the policy framework of prevailing governance & the existing jurisdictional provisions for shipping & ports discloses that while policy making is categorized by national deliberations through organized institutional representation at all jurisdictions and the holiness of the state, the commercial, fiscal, legal and operational environment of this domain is practically exclusively universal. A postmodern interpretation of this universalized society stimulates recommendations for modification in maritime policymaking so that the governance of the sector matches more thoroughly the environment in which shipping & ports function. International Maritime Governance & Policymaking is a divisive topic in the context of policymaking in the maritime sector & evaluates whether the cause for constant policy failure is due to the insufficient governance of the domain. International Maritime Governance & Policymaking answers vital questions of governance, policy & jurisdiction while applies them to the maritime cum shipping sector. | en_US |
