dc.description.abstract The research comprised of structural interpretation by using 2D seismic data of the Chakwal area and interpretation of zones that are hydrocarbon-bearing by petrophysical analysis of Saba-01 well data. The horizons on the seismic sections are marked by generating time depth chart. The study area lies in the Potwar Sub-basin having fault bounded anticlinal structures and in the compressional regime confirming the presence of low angle thrust faults. The Salt Range in the area can be act as a decollement due to the presence of Salt. The hydrocarbon-bearing zone recognized within the study area is Lockhart limestone. But due to the unavailability of well log data in Lockhart Formation, petrophysical analysis was performed in zone of interest of Salt Range Formation from 3740m to 3830m with total thickness of 90m. The petrophysical analysis of well data where the zone has average values of volume of shale 21.85%, volume of clean 78.15%. Effective porosity 2.87% and saturated with hydrocarbon about 80.33%. Hydrocarbon saturation values are not in acceptable range due to problem in data. en_US
