dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the structure and hydrocarbon potential of the Isa Khel area (Mianwali), Upper Indus Basin, Pakistan by using seismic and well log data. For structural interpretation, five seismic lines were used; 905-MWI-64, 905-MWI- 69, 905-MWI-72, 905-MWI-77 (dip line), 915-MWI-99(strike line). Time and depth contours of these horizons Datta Formation, Dandot Formation, Wargal Sandstone, and Khewra Sandstone were generated. All sections show three Faults(F1,F2,F3) and all of them are reverse faults. F1 and F2 show pop-up structure. We identify two zones of interest that show hydrocarbon potential. Petrophysical analysis of these zones shows the saturation of hydrocarbons as 82%, and 90.9%, for both zones respectively. Although a potential reservoir zone was marked the Isa Khel well-01 is exploratory abandoned. | en_US |
