dc.description.abstract The main purpose of the study is to evaluate the hydrocarbon potential of the Ziarat area that lies in the Middle Indus basin, at a distance of about 130 km from Quetta. The area is accessible through Quetta-Ziarat and Quetta-Khanozai, Chinjun-Loralai roads. It sits in the arrangement of a compressional tectonic regime with residues with Thrust Faults and Folds which is identified on the basis of seismic data consisting of five seismic lines available and well data of Zairat-01. Chiltan (Jurassic) and Dungan Formation (Paleocene) are the primary reservoirs in this area but due to very low porosities, they cannot be considered as good reservoirs. en_US
