dc.description.abstract Seismic lines PC/86-9033, PC/86-9074, PC/86-9019, and PC/86-9052 obtained from Directorate General of Petroleum Concessions (DGPC), were shot by Petro Canada and OGDCL in 1986 in the Indus Offshore area which lies 128 km south of Karachi Pakistan. The already interpreted 2-D seismic lines were re-interpreted to reveal as clearly as possible the subsurface structures present in the area of acquired seismic lines and the well Pakcan 01. The interpretation includes the construction of time and depth contour maps, 3D displays and surfaces of Yellow (mid to late Miocene), Green and Orange horizons. Time contour maps of the reflectors were produced using two way time of the reflectors. Average velocities were used to find the depths of the horizons for the seismic section. The interpretation of the geo-seismic section showed that the area consisted of the continental shelf with a number of stratigraphic sequences and a few normal faults representing extensional tectonic regime. Traps for hydrocarbons were developed in the stratigraphic sequences such as channels, canyons, and lenses. en_US
