Abstract:
COVID-19 pandemic affected all businesses globally, there was lockdown
everywhere. People were home stuck without many resources. Publishing Industry is
connected to millions of people and even until 2019 net worth of the industry was
over $250 billion[1] Traditional Publishing Industry which was based on books had
been already struggling as the digitalization era overhauled the present times. In
England, during 2008-13 more than 8% of total stopped visiting libraries[2]. The
total net-worth difference between print and e-books is inclosing rapidly[3]. When
during lockdown small businesses and shops were closed it was effected in
significant losses as some even became bank corrupt [4].COVID-19 has not settled
down yet as we are in the 4
th wave. In such time, a platform like ours is very
beneficial. [5]Bookyard is aimed to support all users with better usability, online
services and persuade the user by figuring out interests and moods.
Bookyard is the solution for people related to the publication sector. It is an
android-native application-oriented platform. Core development tools include
Android Studio and VS Code. MS Visio will be used for flowcharts, data flow
diagrams, and process flow diagrams. For prototyping, Figma will be used. Adobe
Products including Photoshop, Illustrator, and XD for UI design and vector designing
purposes. We also used services for free royalty-free vectors from providers. The
admin panel for Bookyard is designed based on a web application. We are using user
profiling for now until some version of our platform is on a full scale. It does not
only enhance UX but also plays a key role in terms of advancement and usability.
