dc.description.abstract The core intend of this project is to automate the FMCG distribution cycle for the ease of distributors. Our product is a Distribution Automation system that enables the order bookers to record the order on an android phone instead of a sheet of paper. The salesman can view his assigned list of shops on the android device and choose the shop he is currently at. Then for this shop he can record the items being ordered by clicking on them and entering their quantities. He can also check the stock of the ordered item. He can then review the order for any correction and after that would be able to submit it in real time to the server. There on the server it would be stored in the database and would be used for stock management, and trend analyses. Stock management is an important feature in this product. The order that was placed is stored in the database and the products' stock depletes accordingly, when the stock is about to end, the distributor is notified about that so more stock can be ordered back to the manufacturing company. This data of orders also enables the distributor to know about a product's shelf share, the areas and seasons in which a particular product is used more. Another aspect in which this product adds value to the distribution business is the assignment of shops to the salesmen. The product lets the administrator divide the shops into regions and assign those regions to the salesmen. The salesmen would be able to see any update in his shops list in real time. Also in the case that any salesman goes on leave, the administrator would be able to assign his shops to some other salesman easily and painlessly. en_US
