SCAT - Searching and Categorizing Tool

Abstract

The application will allow the user to quickly search a wide variety of items on the computer, including documents, pictures, music, applications, and system preference and obtain the required result in an organized manner. In addition, specific words in documents and in web pages in a web browser's history or bookmarks can be searched. It is sometimes very difficult to search for files that are needed. People have to manually search for required files which takes a lot of time. And even after that there is no assurance that the required document comes up. The software revolves around the idea of narrowing down searches with creation dates, modification dates, sizes, types and other attributes and allowing the user to get the required files in the earliest possible time.
