Network Based Pacman (Pacnet)

Abstract

Gaming is one of the biggest industries in today's software world . So our focus for this project was to revive the old gaming experience with multiplayer functionalities. Our project named PACNET " is based on a old game named PACMAN which was a single player game launched on May 22 ,1980 and is one of the biggest hits of the millennium. The story of the game is that you're the pacman and you love eating beans . So there are four ghosts who are the guardian of beans , we need to control pacman and eat all those beans while saving ourselves from the ghosts. The ghosts are controlled by an Al algorithm through which they try to catch the user (pacman) while keeping him safe at the same time to make the game competitive. Pacnet is a game where you’ll be able to play pacman with your friends and this time rather than the Al algorithm controlling the ghosts, your friends who are playing from their homes will be the one catching you. So in pacnet there will be 5 players in total playing the game out of which four of them will be controlling the ghost and resisting the pacman to eat all beans . The objective of the pacman will remain the same but this time the fun will be double because the people behind the ghost are your friends rather than a computer machine. To make the game more competitive we added the functionality of pacman power. The Pacman Power helps the pacman controller to use his power and make all the ghosts turn blue . When the ghosts are blue the pacman can eat those ghosts and gain more points by eating them . So the ghosts will be chasing the pacman , but they've to keep in mind that pacman can also use it's power to eat them.
