Abstract:
This study analyzes the structural features and hydrocarbon potential of Sakhi Sarwar is located in Baluchistan, Pakistan, within the Sulaiman Fold Belt of the Lower Indus Basin. The area is bounded to the west by the Pishin Basin, to the south by the Kirthar Fold Belt, to the north by the Kohat/Potwar Basin, and to the east by the Indus River. The study focuses on understanding its geological structure, which includes faults, anticlines structures, and pop-up geometries. The Goru Formation is key for oil and gas in Sakhi Sarwar, with the Lower Goru as the reservoir rock and the Upper Goru as the seal. Its complex deposition makes it crucial for exploration. Seismic data interpretation of the Sakhi Sarwar area reveals thrust faults and anticlinal structures, indicating compressional tectonics. Despite low resolution, the Cretaceous Goru Formation horizon was identified, with time and depth contour maps confirming these structural findings. Petro-physical analysis confirms abundant hydrocarbon saturation within the qualified area of the Goru Formation. However, challenges like complicated faults, poor connections between reservoirs, and high water content in some areas make its petroleum potential more challenging. By combining seismic data with petro-physical analysis, we gain crucial insights into the area's underground structures. This information is vital for planning future exploration efforts
