Structural analysis has been performed using 2D seismic data of the Kabirwala area, Central Indus Basin Pakistan. The 2D seismic reflection data was provided by the Directorate General of Petroleum Concession (DGPC), while the Formation tops data of the Budhuana-01 well was provided by Bahria University. The area of research, Kabirwala, lies in the Central Indus Basin. which, to the east is bounded by Sulaiman Depression, to the north by Sargodha high and to the south by Jacobabad High. Five seismic lines i.e. 875-KBR-250, 875-KBR-249, 875-KBR-251, 875-KBR-252 and 875-KBR-253 were used for structural enhancement. Three horizons were marked, namely Chorgali Formation, Dunghan Formation and Samana Suk Formation. Time, depth and velocity contour maps of the three horizons, Chorgali Formation, Dunghan Formation and Samana suk Formation were generated which reveals the structure of the area to be monocline gently dipping towards the south-west. |
