Abstract:
Buying and selling your products over the internet without the need of going
physically to the market is what people want nowadays. But buying something online
is still not that reliable due to issues like not being able to get a good view of the
product or not being able to judge how that product will look like in real life
environments. Products like furniture are really expensive and mostly people prefer
to buy them physically because they are not truly satisfied if that a particular
furniture item will look good or not in their homes. Having an application that gives
a 3D augmented reality view of these products could bring a great change in the
online purchase of home decor items.
The concept of Relwo is introduced in this proposal which is the solution to
the above problems as it will provide a 3D model of the product you are willing to
buy in the real world environments. The augmented reality concept will be
implemented in Android Studio using Sceneform SDK. The sceneform SDK will
allow plane and environment detection so that the 3D models are placed in the real
world environments. Sceneform makes it straightforward to render realistic 3D
scenes in AR and non-AR apps, without having to learn OpenGL. It includes:
A high-level scene graph API
A realistic physically based renderer provided by Filament
An Android Studio plugin for importing, viewing, and building 3D assets
