dc.description.abstract Search for free parking slot in parking area is always been a tough job for parking vehicle. Each person checks for the free parking slot so that traffic jam may occur in the parking area, because of congestion of vehicles in the parking area. There is no proper identification of registered persons and also no proper mechanism for proper billing of registered users. There is no trustable security system so that many people are not satisfied with the existing manual system. Hence, here comes the need of smart parking system to encounter the genuine problems faced by the people. This project provide solutions to almost many problems faced by people in parking area such as automatic assigning of parking slots, authentication of registered users, proper billing mechanism, and maintain proper track and logs of parking area. RFID technology is used for the identification of registered users, it includes RFID reader and RFID cards, RFID cards will be issue to the registered users and RFID reader is placed at the entrance of parking area. Whenever user come to the parking area, he/she required to tap the RFID card to the reader. After that if the card is registered then system will intelligently assign parking slot to the user, so the user just has to park on assigned parking slot. Each parking slot contains an ultrasonic sensor which confirms that vehicle is arrived to its allocated parking slot or not. In future enhancement we will introduce RFID tags instead of RFID card so user don't have to tap the card, the reader will automatically detect the car when it comes to its range. We will also replace ultrasonic sensor with wireless RFID sensor so the system will become more efficient and effective. en_US
