Abstract

Culture is a configuration of learned behaviours and results of behaviour whose component elements are shared and transmitted by the members of a particular society. If there is a country whose culture is starkly contrasted by its international image, it has to be Pakistan. Pakistanis all over the world are facing the dilemma to explain what actually Pakistani culture is due to its diversity. Students, business professionals and tourists come from different countries from all over the world and they have diverse cultures. Pakistan has a wide range of diverse cultures. Understanding each other cultures is more difficult due to which the people from both sides feel uncomfortable. For economic growth and awareness we as a Pakistani should also understand the culture of different countries and help people from other cultures in understanding ours too. Host Lift is a web portal that will be developed in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and SQL via incremental methodology using XAMPP and Brackets for people who doesn’t belong to Pakistani culture but live or visit it due to different reasons. It enables people from other countries to be invited as a guest for a weekend or a day to understand Pakistani culture. There are many benefits of this portal such as learning about the least or never visited countries and a chance to understand the culture of international people as well. The vision is to create a world more understanding and accepting of different cultures. Pakistan entails a wide range of cultures due to which Pakistanis all around the world face the dilemma of explaining what its culture actually holds within it and how unique it is. Pakistani culture holds Indian, Persian, Afghan, Central Asian, South Asian and Western Asian influences. Pakistan has over 15 major ethnic groups and some of them are Punjabis, Sindhis, Baloch, Pashtuns, Kashmiris, Hazaras, Makranis and Baltis, vi coming from regions as close to home as the Indus Valley or as far as Africa or Tibet. Host Lift is a web portal whose purpose is to give an opportunity to people from Pakistan and abroad to understand each other cultures. Through this portal people from different countries will be invited as a guest who are already visiting Pakistan due to different reasons. They’ll get to know about the diversity of our culture. On the other hand we will be able to understand their culture as well which can be beneficial in so many ways.
