dc.description.abstract Eastern Pothwar basin hosts some of the most complex structural geometries which make hydrocarbon exploration problematic and necessitate to carry out subsurface structural analysis more carefully and accurately. The present study has been conducted to carry out subsurface structural analysis of Kal oil field by using move 2D software. The main objective was to delineate and model subsurface geometries formed due to compressional tectonic regime and are very significant for hydrocarbon accumulation and carry out petrophysical analysis to identify potential reservoir zones. To achieve these objectives the 2D seismic data was first loaded to kingdom software and exported to move 2D to resolve navigation problems. Horizons and faults were marked at different intervals and the surfaces were created by modeling modules. The results show the presence of a passive roof duplex geometry with a decollement (SRT) at the base and back trust at top, bounding moderate to extremely stacked sequence. Modeling of the surfaces revealed the presence of three positive geometries at various depths which can be exploited for hydrocarbon exploration. Petrophysical analysis of KAL-01 was performed by establishing zone of interest followed by calculation of porosity and saturation of hydrocarbons and water marking Khewra Sandstone as potential reservoir. en_US
