Abstract:
Vehicle crime or car theft which is highly organized criminal activity, its percentage has been
increasing day by day due to having no track on vehicle identification. Vehicle crime is affecting
all over the regions in the country, so in order to resolve this problem various techniques are
applied in the system to detect and check against a suspicious vehicle to find it out and to be
reported as stolen or cleared.
In this paper, we have created a system to check whether a vehicle is in crime or not. We are
using Optical Character Recognition technique to enquire the vehicle as it passes by. The
security camera will scan the license plate by applying different pre-processing techniques on it.
Further more a biometric device(thumb impression) is attached with the system which identifies
the criminals who are being involved in car snatching and street crime. Therefore our system will
benefit our society.
