dc.description.abstract The seismic method is the most direct and least ambiguous geophysical method for subsurface lithostructural analysis. The seismic reflection method has the advantage of greater precision than the refraction method and is used for deep crustal studies and hydrocarbon exploration. The seismic lines 846-DAN-201, 846-DAN-205 and 846-DAN-243 of the Dhandi area, selected for the studies were acquired by OGDCL in Punjab Province. Pakistan is endowed with three sedimentary basins (covering more than 2/3 of its total area) namely, Indus Basin in the East, the Baluchistan Basin in the West and the Pishin Basin in the northwest. Indus and Baluchistan Basins are separated by the Ornach-Bela transform fault zone and the Pishin Basin lies between Indus and Chamman transform fault. A variety of sub-basins fold belts, and monoclines with variable structural styles resulting from diverse geodynamic conditions have been identified in the Baluchistan Basin and Indus Basin. en_US
