dc.description.abstract The present study had been conducted to carry out a subsurface structural analysis of the Kal oil field by using Move 2D software. The main objective was to delineate and model subsurface geometries formed due to compressional tectonic regime and are very significant for hydrocarbon accumulation. To achieve this objective the 2D seismic data was first loaded to kingdom software and exported to move 2D to resolve navigation problems. Horizon and faults were marked at different intervals and the surfaces were created by modeling modules. The results show the presence of a passive roof duplex geometry with a decollement (SRT) at the base and back trust at top, bounding moderate to extremely stacked sequence. Modeling of the Eocene sequence revealed the presence of three positive geometries at various depths which can be exploited for hydrocarbon exploration. en_US
