dc.description.abstract Urbanization is the transformation in terms of the relocation of population. It is a process that is driven by certain factors which are referred to as push and pull factors. The process has impacts on human lives both diversely and positively. The objective of this research was to investigate the drivers and impacts of urbanization in the socio-economic domain. The study focused on the factors that influence people to migrate to urban centers and the impacts this urbanization has on the economic and social lives of the population in Tarlai Khurd, Islamabad. The research aimed to understand the change in living standards of people due to urbanization. This research was significantly focused on gathering primary data through quantitative means which is questionnaires. The data was analyzed by Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), because of its robustness in analyzing quantitative data. The Findings of the study suggest that there is a strong relation between the socio-economic drivers and impacts of urbanization. Economic drivers specifically drive the process of urbanization and influence people to migrate from rural to urban areas. There is a mixed positive and negative social impact, with economic impacts highlighted as positive for most of the respondents. Moreover, the investigation also affirms that urbanization has positive effects on the lives of people in terms of both the economic and social spectrum proving the hypothesis to be correct. en_US
