Abstract:
Minorities are smaller groups of people inside a state that are classified according to their language, religion or ethnicity. Minority communities have coexisted peacefully in Pakistan since the country's independence and have actively contributed to its advancement, particularly in every field. Now-a-days minority rights have been significantly treated by everyone all around the globe. This research is conducted to explore the young minority activists raising voices regarding socioeconomic issues on social media. Social media turned the world into a global village by providing different social media platforms which provides people different opportunities to express their voices and also interact with each other in a very quick way. The purpose of this analytical study is to explore the role of activist use social media platform as a shield of Minority Rights in Pakistan. This study also highlights the importance of social media ethnography and the role of these activists addressing the issues to create an awareness among people of their community to understand the importance of fighting for their basic rights. Furthermore it discusses that young minority activists are more interested to talk about their rights. They don't even hesitate to show their freedom of expression. Also make plans and work on them to overcome the issues such as education, employment, politics, force conversion, poverty and economic crisis, social exclusion.
