| dc.description.abstract | This study describes the rituals and practices surrounding the rites of passage in Kashmiri people. The rich and fascinating culture of Kashmir is famous throughout the world. This research focuses on the social, cultural, and religious practices that marks important transitions of life from birth to death. Traditional practices from Aqiqah ceremony to examine rituals like Janaza, these practices reflects the importance of rituals in the context of Islam. People follow different kind of practices throughout these life transitions to satisfy their soul and society. Throughout the study, this also highlights the impact of modernization on the traditional practices of Kashmiri people. The ethnographic study provides the comprehensive understanding of Kashmiri people in District Muzaffarabad about rites of passage. It also highlights how these rituals and practices help in preserving cultural heritage and helps in fostering community solidarity. The study contributes to broader anthropological discussions on the role of rituals in human societies offers invaluable insights in to the cultural fabric of Kashmir. | en_US |
