Abstract:
This study explores the mindfulness and adherence to hand cleanliness conventions among non-clinical staff out in the open and confidential clinics in Islamabad. The study aims to assess the level of knowledge and compliance with hand hygiene practices among non-clinical personnel, who frequently play a crucial role in maintaining a hygienic environment, considering the critical role that hand hygiene plays in preventing infections that are acquired in hospitals. Information was gathered from 125 members through an organized survey disseminated on the web. The outcomes uncovered huge contrasts in mindfulness and adherence levels between staff out in the open and confidential clinics, with private emergency clinic staff exhibiting higher consistence rates. The discoveries highlight the requirement for designated instructive projects and strong checking systems to improve hand cleanliness rehearses among non-clinical staff, eventually adding to better contamination control in medical care settings. The importance of investigating nonclinical staff's awareness of hand hygiene protocols in both public and private hospitals in Islamabad is underscored by its potential to enhance patient safety, minimize healthcare-associated infections, and positively impact public health. By identifying and addressing knowledge gaps in hand hygiene awareness among nonclinical staff, this research could guide specific interventions, boost adherence to global healthcare standards, and result in more effective use of resources. Ultimately, it aims to improve healthcare service quality, promote a safer healthcare environment, and contribute to a healthier workforce in the Islamabad region. The convenience sampling method was utilized for data collection. Result analyses were carried out on SPSS version 21. It is recommended that hospital administrations implement comprehensive hand hygiene training programs, ensure the availability of hand hygiene facilities, and establish regular monitoring and feedback systems to improve compliance. While non-clinical staff play a crucial role in maintaining overall hygiene standards in hospitals, there is a significant need for targeted interventions to boost their compliance with hand hygiene protocols. Improving hand hygiene practices among this group can contribute substantially to reducing healthcare-associated infections and enhancing patient safety.
