Abstract:
The main aim of the study is to determine the impact and use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology on material handling procedures of courier services. The research design is based on cause and effect research which will be designed and carried out in order to develop and extract detailed insights for observing the relationship between the variables. In relation to the current study, therefore, the sample to be selected will include 200 respondents, which is regarded as the research population. The regression analysis calculates the equation that also minimizes the distance between the data points and fitted lines. The results show the significance of the dependent and independent variables. The use of RFID in retail can provide several improvements, and cites opportunities for increased revenues (through minor breaks in gondolas and better planning of promotions), lower distribution costs (in the form of reduced logistic costs and losses) and smaller store operation costs. The use of RFID in retail can radically change the methods of operation of their supply chains. The research showed the importance of IT as the initial driver of the adoption process, the fact that the principle was not expected. Perhaps, this is related to the great involvement of IT in the management of industrial and business processes in companies. Despite the importance of IT as a possible motivator of adoption, the analysis also showed that the impact of RFID technology in material handling is significant.
