This paper describes the social problems faced by the new-Muslims of Pakistan. Pakistan is an Islamic Republic Country where non-Muslim minorities are also part of the population. Preaching Islam is a significant responsibility of the Muslim Ummah. At the state level in Pakistan, there is no formal system to preach Islam to non-Muslim minorities. However, some individuals and private organizations are playing a role in the process of preaching Islam, due to which many non-Muslims are accepting Islam. The social problems faced by the new-Muslims after accepting Islam are very painful and regrettable. The new-Muslims of Pakistan generally face social, economic and legal problems as a result of two types of social attitudes towards them: the attitude of the community of their previous religion and the attitude of the Muslim society. As a result of accepting Islam, the reaction of the community of their previous religion to the new- Muslims is very oppressive and aggressive. However, there is a mixed trend in the attitudes of Muslim society. During the research, according to the interviews conducted with the new-Muslims and with the officials of the organizations that provide services regarding new-Muslims, some organizations and groups of people in Pakistan are not only playing a role in preaching Islam to non-Muslims but also giving services to new-Muslims, such as shelter, protection, financial support, legal support, etc. Although such people are making efforts to solve the problems of the new-Muslims, their number and domain are limited. Therefore, there is a need for a central institution at the state level in Pakistan which can be helpful in these matters. |
