dc.description.abstract The main objective of this research is to display how a Programmable logic controller (PLC) system is used for the improvement and efficiency of fire tube boiler. Boiler is the most essential and major part of every industry and power plant. Owing to its significance and widespread application in industries, automation is required for accurate and efficient operation. Traditional boiler automation methods needed labor-intensive human work. The boiler does not function properly or produce the desired stream as a result of ignorance and other human error. Due to these human errors, the boiler failed, resulting in an accident and the loss of life. Automating with a logical processor is required to prevent these risks. PLC gives the boiler a dependable monitoring system. The goal of this project is to use a programmable logic controller to regulate the boiler’s gas burner management system and achieve the required pressure. The first phase of the project is forced to pass the input to the boiler at a specific temperature in order to maintain the temperature of boiler. This is aided by the air preheater and economizer. From the properties of the steam table, it is necessary to maintain steam pressure at specific temperature. In our design, we implement the project with different sensors, like pressure sensors, water level sensors and etc. These PLC-controlled sensors offer a real-time monitoring system and an effective output. We turned off the entire system using an emergency switch for safety reasons. A manual safety switch is located at the top of the boiler drum to prevent the boiler from exploding from an excess of steam that is stored in it, should the PLC controller fail to stop the system at the maximum pressure of steam. Additionally, alarm indication is included to stop the risks. Siemens company PLC is used for this automation of the boiler as per our requirement of input and output ports. For PLC, the MICROWIN Developer software is used to build the ladder diagram of the boiler. en_US
