dc.description.abstract | The integration of modern Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) devices into critical infrastructure has raised concerns about their vulnerability to digital threats. This project delves into the security landscape of IIoT devices by designing and implementing an IoT network infrastructure using ESP WiFi modules. The primary objective is to comprehensively analyze the susceptibility of IIoT devices to cyber-attacks and subsequently implement effective countermeasures to enhance their security. The research begins by constructing a realistic IoT network infrastructure, employing ESP WiFi modules to emulate IIoT devices within a controlled environment. This infrastructure mimics various aspects of industrial processes to replicate real-world scenarios, providing a practical foundation for security assessments. Subsequently, the study investigates potential cyber threats and attacks targeting the outlined IIoT digital-physical system. Leveraging ethical hacking techniques, vulnerabilities are identified, and the potential impact of cyber-attacks is assessed. This research aims to uncover weaknesses in IIoT device security and provide insights for both academic research and industry professionals looking to enhance IIoT device security in industrial settings. By practical implementation, and ethical hacking, this project contributes to the understanding of IIoT device vulnerabilities and outlines a framework for securing these devices within industrial environments.
