dc.description.abstract With the passage of time there is a strong energy needs from the business and commercial sectors. The energy sources got lesser and lesser due to atmospheric reasons, and also the rapid increase in oil price, these all issues come with the new innovations in DER distributed energy resources. The term microgrid is introduced by combining the loads to DERs as a little power system, with this proposal some of the issues like power quality controlling and reactive control also came One of the main constraint in the microgrids is the power quality, its performance depends on the mode of operation whether it is operated in grid connected mode or stand alone mode Voltage sags, voltage unbalance and voltage swells are the main hurdles for the required power quality Some of the equipment gets warmed and the performance decreases because high power quality is needed by critical loads This thesis introduces the methodology to vanish the harmonics from grid current, a meaningful phase identification is needed, for this need VSI voltage source inverter is used, to increase the power quality of micro grid multi level inverter is experienced. The harmonic impact will be decreased by using the filter for non linear loads. THD is controlled by the using of filter schemes because non linear load is present in the framework. To get the desired results of the system MATLAB/ Simulation is used. Unbalancing of current and voltage is decreased. With this the THD is also lesser by the proposed model, which automatically increase the power quality of the system. en_US
