Determining Awareness Regarding Science and Technology Innovation Policy Pakistan

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the awareness of Pakistan's science and technology innovation policy and also to identify the blemishes in it. This qualitative research is exploratory and descriptive and is done by using ethnography technique. As suggested by data gathering technique for this research is interviews and focus groups are Policy Makers, Industry Specialists, Entrepreneurs Innovators, and Universities. For this purpose a survey guide was designed. Questions used in this survey guide are taken from already published work. Ethnographic content analysis is done to study the innovation policies of other countries which includes China, India, Japan, Bangladesh, and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Based on the interview conducted it is found that people are not aware of Innovation Policy of Pakistan. Innovation in Pakistan do exists but this innovation is not on national level. That is why not only National Innovation System suffer but also Pakistan has no impact on Regional Innovation System. This research will indicate the blemishes in current innovation policy and will help government and policy making bodies to improve innovation policy
