dc.description.abstract We are living in an era where requirements elicitation and customization play significant role in software systems design and development. Every organization now a day needs customized software systems to meet the requirements of particular organization and their businesses, operations. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a software system that provides an organization a full Hedge operational system that automates and integrates all departments an organization is having. There are several generic ERP s)’stems available in the market that can be implemented for different organizations but cannot promise the good results due to ERP customization moreover every organization requirements differ from other organization. As essentially if the generic ERP is implemented without effective customization, it might fail. The following thesis covers the challenges that are faced by many organizations when an ERP system is installed without efficient requirements and ERP customization. The process can lead to failure if requirements are not being customized according to the organization domain requirements and stakeholders needs. By having a comprehensive analysis of the literature in this, we provided here some significant ERP and requirements customization techniques that could lead to a successful implementation of an ERP system and further few critical success factors that benefit the small and medium organizations. We have contributed hypothesis here based on literature review, empirical analysis of data nom different companies that how important is completeness of requirements and the early mapping of requirements to an ERP system (via case study analysis/ metrics/ market analysis). In the empirical analysis we surveyed different organizations, businesses and collected data about the ERP systems requirements in context of requirements elicitation, prioritization and management. The results were analyzed by SPSS and we have mapped the core factors in this via these results validation and toward end we have proposed our different metrics to make a correlation between these mentioned factors en_US
