dc.description.abstract Lean is considered a powerful management tool for increasing organizational productivity and effectiveness. The lean system eventually changes the employee’s way of action within the working environment as compared to the mass production system. Lean has significantly contributed to and improved operational management, whereas the human dimension of lean has received astonishingly limited attention. In order to increase productivity through lean adoption it is required to understand the dimensions of positive lean which is a neglected area and is not living up to its potential. This research work will highlight the hurdles and challenges in the way of positive lean implementation industry is facing and sightsee the success factors of positive lean adoption. This study was conducted using qualitative interviewing and ethnographic content analysis of the automotive industry which discovered several issues the automotive industry is facing in positive lean implementation. Several recommendations are given by the automotive industry to overcome these hurdles. In which top management willingness, training, educated workforce, awareness of positive lean, organization environment, and cultural change are considered important recommendations by the industry. Based on the study results, recommendations are presented. If the recommendations of the study are followed by the industry the hurdles can be reduced. This study will help the automotive industry of Pakistan to implement positive lean by understanding the importance and critical success factors of positive lean implementation. en_US
