dc.description.abstract Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) is a modulation scheme that uses benefits of two schemes namely Amplitude Shift Keying and Phase Shift Keying. The phase and amplitude of signal in QAM are manipulated. This technique has been used to design a modem in our project. The aim of the project is to simulate a modem that transmits packets (according to the IEEE 802.11a standard) in which the data is modulated using QAM, and then receives the same packets and demodulates to retrieve the actual data transmitted. en_US
