dc.description.abstract The issue of sustainable development has gained importance over the past two decades, particularly in the business sector around the world. Companies across various industries have incorporated sustainability considerations into their investment portfolios for a variety of reasons, including stakeholder demands, industry competition, and profitability. Now that the issue of climate change and resource depletion is taking on global political and economic importance; Going green is no longer NOT an option for businesses. This study aims to examine the green procurement process in the telecommunications sector with a particular focus on the sustainability initiatives. The sample supply chain professionals from various telecom companies located in the twin cities of Pakistan: Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The rapid development of the telecommunications sector has become a catalyst for global connectivity, but at the same time has raised concerns about its environmental impact. This thesis begins an exploration of the importance of integrating green procurement into the telecommunications sector, focusing on the sustainability initiatives a leading telecommunications company in Pakistan. The aim of this study is to provide an in-depth analysis of organizations commitment to aligning its sourcing practices with environmental sustainability goals, examining the challenges it faces, the benefits achieved and the wider implications for the 'industry. More broadly, this research provides a roadmap for other telecommunications companies looking to improve their sustainability profile. By identifying best practices and addressing challenges, the study aims to promote the development of a more sustainable telecommunications sector that combines growth and environmental responsibility. The findings of this study are expected to be of interest to industry practitioners, policy makers and academics, contributing to a broader and more inclusive dialogue on the important role of green procurement in shaping the future of the telecommunications sector. en_US
