dc.description.abstract For the hydrocarbon exploration, petrophysical analysis has been carried out in Miano 07 and Miano 09 located in Miano block central Indus Basin Pakistan. Tectonically, both wells are present in an area that went through extensional tectonics. These are located in Panno Aqil graben surrounded by Kandhkot Mari and Jacobabad Khairpur horsts in North and South respectively. In both Miano 07 and Miano 09 drilling has been done from Kirthar Formation of the Eocene age up to the Lower Goru Formation of the Cretaceous age which is acting as a reservoir. Intra-formational shale of Goru Formation is acting as seal and Sembar Formation as source rock. The logging suite includes caliper log, spontaneous potential log, gamma ray log, dual later log. neutron log, density log, sonic log and microspherically focused log have been run from depth of 3110 to 3434 meters in Miano 07 and 3326 to 3385 meters in Miano 09 encountering Lower Goru Formation. Eight (08) meters thick zone (3322-29m) in Miano 07 and the (07) meters thick zone (3338-45m) in Miano 09 has been marked on the basis of certain petrophysical parameters i.e. low GR-log values, high LLD values and neutron-density crossover. Marked zones not only showed really good porosity and hydrocarbon saturation but also bear acceptable volumes of shale. Stratigraphic well correlation of both wells has also been drawn with other wells of Miano block and it was found that both Sui Main Limestone and Parh Formation were decreasing in thickness in SW direction. According to present research work, B-sand of Lower Goru Formation has been concluded as reservoirs and recommended for further testing to ensure the statement. en_US
