Abstract:
The primary goal of this study is to determine the geological characteristics and to find out the bearing capacity of the foundation material. For the geotechnical investigation four (4) boreholes were drilled up to the depth of 40ft. Standard penetration test (SPT) were performed, and samples were recovered from each borehole with the interval of 5ft. The field observations were measured, and samples were transferred to the lab for further analysis. Laboratory tests i.e. sieve analysis, Atterberg limits, bulk and dry density and natural moisture content were performed. Bearing capacity analysis was performed and raft foundation at the depth of 12ft is recommended for safe and economical foundation.
