Abstract:
In today’s educational landscape, traditional teaching methods may fall short in preparing students for the dynamic demands of their future careers. Acknowledging this, Bahria University aspires to augment its educational model through peer learning, an approach fostering collaborative knowledge exchange and problem-solving among students. To realize this vision, the proposal introduces a web-based platform named "Peer-Learn" aimed at uniting students, faculty, and alumni in a collaborative learning space. The envisioned platform integrates a multifaceted approach comprising Q&A forums, video lectures, mentorship programs, and collaborative tools. Designed with Bahria University’s needs in mind, the platform aims to foster active learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills essential for academic and professional success. Outlined objectives encompass creating an interactive environment, facilitating peerto- peer learning, offering diverse learning resources, and fostering a sense of community among users. The project’s scope involves the development of a scalable, user-centric platform ensuring continual enhancements based on user feedback and technological advancements. However, traditional educational models face limitations in fostering critical skills and addressing disparities in access exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. To combat these challenges, the proposed platform aims to bridge educational gaps by promoting collaborative learning and fostering a cohesive learning community. The project’s methodology encompasses a thorough review of existing literature, highlighting the theoretical foundations, benefits, implementation strategies, and challenges associated with peer learning platforms. Key studies examined past initiatives, each contributing unique perspectives on collaborative learning. Overall, this documentation serves as a foundational blueprint for the development of "Peer-Learn," an innovative solution designed to revolutionize the educational landscape at Bahria University, fostering a culture of collaborative learning, knowledge sharing, and academic success.
