Abstract:
The emergence of smart health technologies has brought numerous benefits in healthcare services such as remote patient monitoring, personalized treatment, and early disease detection. However, these technologies also pose significant security and privacy risks. Authentication is a crucial step in ensuring that only authorized users can access patient data and operate smart health gadgets. In this research, We present a lightweight, secure authentication method that is suitable for use in smart health environments. The proposed scheme utilizes a Multiple Factor authentication method with a lightweight algorithm to ensure both security and efficiency. We undertook an extensive examination of the proposed system’s security and performance characteristics. Our findings revealed minimal computational overhead, measuring at just 0.04 milliseconds, and communication overhead comparable to 704 bits. The proposed scheme surpasses the previous one in terms of security attributes. These results indicate that the proposed methodology excels when it comes to authentication performance and security. This assessment considered various metrics, including computation time, communication overhead, and overall security strength, further reinforcing the superiority of our approach over existing solutions. Our authentication scheme can be readily integrated into various smart health scenarios, such as remote patient monitoring, wearable devices, and mobile health applications, to elevate the security level of patient data and protect privacy.
