Abstract:
Rajian Structure lies in eastern Potwar, immediately south of Adhi, south-east of Fimkassar and south-west of Missa Keswal oil fields. Rajian was explored in 1990 and is one of the major oil and gas fields of OGDCL. Final migrated 2D seismic data of Rajian,
Gujjar Khan Area was obtained from DGPC (Directorate General of Petroleum Concession) for seismic interpretation. The data comprise seven seismic lines including five dip lines, 932-GJN-12, 925-GJN-09, 925-GJN-08, 932-GJN-05, 932-GJN-
028 and two strike lines, 932-GJN-13 and 932-GJN-14. The dip lines are oriented in the north-west direction while strike lines are oriented in the north-east direction. Four prominent reflectors blue, green, yellow, and pink were marked on the seismic sections. These reflectors were interpreted as Sakesar Limestone, Lockhart Limestone, Baghanwala Formation and Khewra Sandstone i-e Eocene-Cambrian Sequence. Four faults namely F1, F2, F3 and Domeli thrust were also marked on the seismic sections. Time and depth sections of all seismic lines were produced. Time and depth contours of marked four reflectors were also made. The seismic velocities, given in the velocity windows on the seismic section were used to find the depth of the Formations. Two types of structural traps, anticline traps and fault traps are the prospective zones for hydrocarbons in the Rajian Area.
