Due to the fact that the energy demands ofthe 21st century are rapidly rising because
of the growth in population, significant work is being done to make the electricity
grid smarter so that the grid can be more reactive to satisfy the liveliness demands of
the clients and to develop enhanced, efficient, and reliable grid systems.
Internet of Things (IoT) has appeared as some of the facilitating skills for a
smart grid network. Since IoT-based smart network is understood to have an growing
number of IoT-connected devices to be online as well as the fact that the IoT-based
smart network contains of lots of nodes, some of the major encounters is security of
the smart network and its vulnerability to major IoT focused cyber-attacks. Any kind
of cyber-attack whether it targets a specific device on the smart grid, the privacy of
consumers, or whether the attack targets the overall network, the consequence would
be devastating for almost all the devices in our homes, workplaces, hospitals, trains,
and other devices that operate electrically. Thus, it is significant to reflect the
security factor of smart grid systems first and foremost since it deals with
communication between power supplies and consumers - combining huge electrical
grids for two-way communication.

I In simpler words, we refer to such attacks on smart grid as DoS attacks. In this paper,
discover the types of DoS attacks and their consequences due to which the
progress ofIoT-based smart network systems is affected. |
