Abstract:
Purpose
The main idea ofthis study was to examine how Green supply chain management practices
impact Operational Performance of a firm by taking Lean Management as mediating in the
textile sector ofKarachi.
Methodology & Design
A quantitative method was used in this research study and it includes data from 184
respondents from the textile sector of Karachi. The questionnaire has been adopted from
already available questionnaires from two articles. The sample technique used in this study is
Non probabilistic Convenient sampling and the data was analyzed by SME-PLS
Findings
The results ofthis study found that Lean management mediates a positive relationship between
Green Manufacturing and Operational performance. I also showed that Green procurement
does not have a positive effect on Operational Performance but when Lean Management is
mediation it shows a positive effect. Whereas Eco Design with and without Lean taken as
Management does not positively effect Operational Performance. Limitations
This study has only considered the textile companies listed in the 100 index list of Karachi
stock exchange because oflimited resources in the future it can be expended country wide and
in the other industries as well which will give better insight.
Recommendations
This study recommends local companies to adopt green practices religiously in order to
compete internationally and to educate workers and suppliers about the importance of using
these practices.
